Happy Holidays from our family to yours!

Well, I must admit: I'm not the most "faithful" blogger. I just get busy and forget to update this page. :) What is new??? Well, tomorrow we close on our house making us the newest members of the home-owners community. We're pretty excited. I just wish it would hurry up and not be winter anymore (if you can call 70 degrees winter..) so that we can get on with planting grass seed and what not. Kind of hard to let a 1 year old play outside when its nothing but dirt out there. We did take Elizabeth to the park a few days ago. She had the best time! She absolutely LOVES the swings. We forgot the camera of course, but Tony promised me we'd go back there soon.

Elizabeth is proving to be a very intelligent little girl. She seems very smart, almost TOO smart if you know what I mean. Here's a few accomplishments (if you can call some of them that):

  • She has learned how to say up (so now, whenever she wants up on the couch with you or she's ready to get up for the day she'll say UP)

  • She has learned "More, please" and "Thank you" in sign language so when she wants more she will use the sign.

  • She has learned how to remove her diaper... let me tell you, this kid is Houdini. One minute in a diaper the next minute Alakazam! Its gone! We went ahead and bought a potty for her, we figure its never too early to start. She came up to me one morning and said Up. When I picked her up, she said "I wet" and pointed to her diaper.

Well, we're still waiting to close and for the formalities to go through. But, here are some pictures of our new house.

New House

So we put in an offer on a brand new 3bdrm 2 bath house and the builder accepted the offer. We were told we could move in as early as next week but won't close until the end of December. I'm pretty excited!! We're going to own our own home. Yippee. I'll post some pics when I get some. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Miss everyone!

Woohoo!!

I found it! I figured out how to save my old posts. We're in TX now, trying to find a house. I'll update more when I know more.

Well that's what I get..

I was wanting to change my background and I managed to accidently delete all of my old blogs. Sadly, I know better than to apply something without saving the old settings, but its late and I was excited about this new background. Oh well. Here's to a new start! :)

Tony, Elizabeth and I are currently in Arkansas visiting my family. We leave for San Angelo, TX on Sunday to start a new chapter in our lives. We'll be stationed at Goodfellow AFB for atleast the next 2 years (maybe more depending on whether or not I reenlist).

Elizabeth is jibber jabbing up a storm. She will repeat most words she hears once, but thats it. She's a little turkey and won't repeat it again. She has 5 teeth now, its hard to believe she only had 2 teeth when we started this trip 3 weeks ago. She walks everywhere she goes now, well mostly runs as she is into something at ALL times.
I got a new camera for Christmas so I am still trying to figure it out, but I LOVE it! I hope to take some good pictures in the future and keep everyone up to date with how big Liz is getting. Hope everyone is doing well.

Elizabeth is 1 years old!

Ahh. Can it be? Can my little girl already be 1 year old today? More like she's 1 going on 16, or so she thinks. She has 4 teeth, her 2 bottom teeth, her 2 top canine teeth, and now one of her front teeth is coming in. She is such a sweet baby! She is constantly giving lovin' to everything and everyone. :)

We are in Ohio at the moment visiting Tony's family/daughter and we are leaving Sunday for Arkansas. We will spend 12 days there and then its off to San Angelo to start over at Goodfellow. Hopefully it will be warmer there than the weather we're used to... then again ANYTHING is warmer than what we were used to in Alaska.

Fast Food sucks!

Well we've officially moved out of our house in North Pole. All of our stuff is packed and on its way to Texas. We're currently living in a hotel room on base. We'll be here a total of 10 days, and I think we are on day 5? All of the days have been running together. We've been eating out alot because we don't want to waste money on groceries we can't take with us. I don't think I'm sick of fast food, I think I am more sick of eating the same old crap every day. I can't wait until we get back to the lower 48 and have a wider variety to choose from!

I finally graduated ALS! Woohoo, now I just have to wait until June or July to put on Staff Sergeant. Looking forward to the payraise!

Hard to believe my little girl will be 1 next month! She's getting so big, she started walking a couple of weeks ago, she still crawls every now and then but she loves to walk and thinks she's soo big when she does. I can't wait to see everyone! We'll be in/around Ohio from 10 Nov-23 Nov and in/around Arkansas from 24 Nov-6 Dec. Love you guys!

Update

Wow, time really flies when you're busy. I just realized I haven't updated this in a while. It is already almost October! We have 34 days left in Alaska. I am currently in a leadership class that last 5.5wks so as soon as I graduate this course I will have 1 more week left in Alaska. Today we got the first snowfall. Of course, it is still to realitively warm for the snow to stick but it shouldn't be too much longer! TEXAS here we come!! :) It will be nice to have some warm weather for a change.

Elizabeth is a mess. She is getting bigger and bigger everyday. She still doesn't have any more teeth, but that doesn't stop her from eating any and everything she finds. She's started walking but she is still too scared to walk without holding your hand so she settles on crawling most of the time.

Getting orders??

Well, the list came out. My choices are Ft Meade, Goodfellow, or Langley. I'll find out for sure where we're going no earlier than the 1st of August. The latest 15 August. Nothing else is really new. We're just counting down the days until we leave and trying to get everything ready. Elizabeth is a mess. She's my little ham. The weather is already starting to cool off again...boo. It was 42degrees this morning.

2 Teeth!!

Wow, I can't believe how time flys.. its been forever since I updated this thing. Elizabeth got her first tooth on the 25 June, then just 2 days later got her 2nd tooth. So now she has her 2 bottom teeth. She also realized how to crawl now. Before, she was just rolling over and over and over to get where she needed to go. Now, she's realized that sometimes it can be faster to crawl.

Other than that, not too much has been going on. The weather here is beautiful its been in the 70s and yesterday it was a gorgeous 80 degrees! We're just waiting out our last few months here in Alaska. We should get orders to where we're going next in August, and we'll be moving in November.

Learning to Wave!!

Here is a video that we took of Elizabeth with her new found love: waving. Ever since she learned she could wave she waves hi to everyone, including herself :) She's also learned to clap and when she waves she'll clap for herself. Its too cute. I just wish we could get her clapping on video! She just turned 6mths old earlier this week and she thinks she's alot older than she really is.

Active little booger..

Well, Elizabeth isn't crawling yet. But does that stop her from moving around? Heck no, she's learned that by rolling over and over and over she can go whether she pleases. Most of the time she ends up in the entertainment center, but Saturday I was sitting on the couch and somehow she managed to roll about 4-5 ft underneath the coffee table to my feet so she could play with my toes. It startled me, and when I looked down, there she was looking up at me through the glass smiling away :) Needless to say she's been sentenced to her "prison" (her pack-n-play) for the time being until we can get the house baby-proofed.

She's saying quite a few words now. Mainly bah-bah and da-da but sometimes she'll manage to get out a mum-a. Of course, she doesn't know what these words mean but its still cute :) She's also started learning baby sign language at the babysitters and here at home.... so far we're teaching her hi/bye..mom..dad..love..eat..drink..all done..more.. and I swear she knows hi/bye and dad but whether or not its clicked to her what shes saying I'm highly doubtful at this stage seeing as how we just started not to long ago.

Other than that, nothing much is going on.. She turns 6mths next week, crazy to think about! And the snow has finally all melted and its been in the 60s during the day, 40s in the morning, absolute gorgeous weather!

Hope everyone's doing good. Love The Sharpes

My First Attempt at Blogging..

Well, it seems to me that everyone but me had a Blog so I thought "what the hey, let's give it a shot" and here I am. I figured this would be a good way for everyone to see Elizabeth grow up since we're 6000 miles away right now.

Not too much to say at the moment, she just turned 5mths old! So hard to believe, seems like just yesterday I was pregnant! Elizabeth and I just made a trip back to Arkansas for 2 weeks, and let me tell you, man time flies when you're not working! :) All three of us, yes even Daddy, will be back through Arkansas for a visit in November when we're heading to our next base. We'll find out where we're going in July-August time frame.

Hope everyone is doing good, I'll definately have to keep this thing updated.

Things that Elizabeth is doing now:

  • She just learned to roll over from her back to stomach

  • She's trying to crawl

  • She loves to talk or atleast she thinks she is...

  • She seems to be trying to cut some teeth, she's drooling all the time, and can't seem to get enough of chewing on whatever she can get her hands on
