Welcome to 2009...2008 is soooo last year!

HAPPY NEW YEARS everybody! How is the Sharpe Family ringing in the new year? With a new member of the family! Now don't go getting all excited....I'm not pregnant. We're getting a furry addition. His name will be Dexter and he is a Goldendoodle from Missouri. Right now he is 6 weeks old, but he will be about 9 weeks old when we get him. He's flying in to Midland Airport on 24 January...and Tony, Elizabeth and I am going to go pick him up. I'm really excited. Ever since we had to get rid of our last dog because he wouldn't be allowed on base, just to find out there was a problem with base housing and we are in our own house and could have kept him, I've been pretty upset. I asked Tony for a dog for my birthday. He was reluctant at first. He didn't want our new house trashed by a dog. But, after being persistant (annoying/pouting) he agreed. I wanted a big dog I could take for walks and he wanted something little that didn't shed. So, we compromised and got a Goldendoodle a big dog with minimal shedding. His daughter Mallory has one and we both fell in love with her dog when we met him so we've been browsing around for one the ast few months without actively pursing it. Tony found Dexter (Stanford) online inquired about him and after talking back and forth with the owner/breeder we were very happy with the pictures/videos. The lady really seems to love what she does and loves dogs and gives her puppies so much love and attention.

So without further ado, meet Dexter our soon-t0-be newest member of the family!

Happy Holidays from our family to yours!

Well, I must admit: I'm not the most "faithful" blogger. I just get busy and forget to update this page. :) What is new??? Well, tomorrow we close on our house making us the newest members of the home-owners community. We're pretty excited. I just wish it would hurry up and not be winter anymore (if you can call 70 degrees winter..) so that we can get on with planting grass seed and what not. Kind of hard to let a 1 year old play outside when its nothing but dirt out there. We did take Elizabeth to the park a few days ago. She had the best time! She absolutely LOVES the swings. We forgot the camera of course, but Tony promised me we'd go back there soon.

Elizabeth is proving to be a very intelligent little girl. She seems very smart, almost TOO smart if you know what I mean. Here's a few accomplishments (if you can call some of them that):

  • She has learned how to say up (so now, whenever she wants up on the couch with you or she's ready to get up for the day she'll say UP)

  • She has learned "More, please" and "Thank you" in sign language so when she wants more she will use the sign.

  • She has learned how to remove her diaper... let me tell you, this kid is Houdini. One minute in a diaper the next minute Alakazam! Its gone! We went ahead and bought a potty for her, we figure its never too early to start. She came up to me one morning and said Up. When I picked her up, she said "I wet" and pointed to her diaper.

Well, we're still waiting to close and for the formalities to go through. But, here are some pictures of our new house.

New House

So we put in an offer on a brand new 3bdrm 2 bath house and the builder accepted the offer. We were told we could move in as early as next week but won't close until the end of December. I'm pretty excited!! We're going to own our own home. Yippee. I'll post some pics when I get some. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Miss everyone!

Woohoo!!

I found it! I figured out how to save my old posts. We're in TX now, trying to find a house. I'll update more when I know more.

Well that's what I get..

I was wanting to change my background and I managed to accidently delete all of my old blogs. Sadly, I know better than to apply something without saving the old settings, but its late and I was excited about this new background. Oh well. Here's to a new start! :)

Tony, Elizabeth and I are currently in Arkansas visiting my family. We leave for San Angelo, TX on Sunday to start a new chapter in our lives. We'll be stationed at Goodfellow AFB for atleast the next 2 years (maybe more depending on whether or not I reenlist).

Elizabeth is jibber jabbing up a storm. She will repeat most words she hears once, but thats it. She's a little turkey and won't repeat it again. She has 5 teeth now, its hard to believe she only had 2 teeth when we started this trip 3 weeks ago. She walks everywhere she goes now, well mostly runs as she is into something at ALL times.
I got a new camera for Christmas so I am still trying to figure it out, but I LOVE it! I hope to take some good pictures in the future and keep everyone up to date with how big Liz is getting. Hope everyone is doing well.

Elizabeth is 1 years old!

Ahh. Can it be? Can my little girl already be 1 year old today? More like she's 1 going on 16, or so she thinks. She has 4 teeth, her 2 bottom teeth, her 2 top canine teeth, and now one of her front teeth is coming in. She is such a sweet baby! She is constantly giving lovin' to everything and everyone. :)

We are in Ohio at the moment visiting Tony's family/daughter and we are leaving Sunday for Arkansas. We will spend 12 days there and then its off to San Angelo to start over at Goodfellow. Hopefully it will be warmer there than the weather we're used to... then again ANYTHING is warmer than what we were used to in Alaska.
